A tatami judo mat is nowadays often used in the practice of Japanese self-defense sports like jiu-jitsu, judo and aikido.

The mats must meet strict requirements in terms of hardness, strength, durability and uniformity for use in exercises and competitions. They are usually made of materials like foam and vinyl nowadays and can be different sizes and colors.

The mat will not slide, absorbs shocks, is easy to clean and taken apart quickly for cleaning the floor underneath. The mat can also be used double-sided and have a rice straw grain giving you a good grip.

Note: The mat is sold separately including three finishing edges.
